Rules For Pet Safety

Make sure your pet is enrolled with 24/7 Pet Return in our platinum membership program and has our toll free number on their identification tag.

Make sure your pet wears a collar and identification tag even if your pet never goes out. You never know how or when your pet will become lost. If someone breaks in your house and lets your pet out or a child or repairman leaves a door or gate open, your pet can be gone in an instant. More pets are lost each year due to no identification than are lost to all infectious diseases combined.

If your pet has a medical condition that a person finding them should be aware of, please include that information on your pet's record at 247petreturn.com. We can inform the person finding your pet of this medical information when they call.

Know where you would take your pet in an emergency situation. After your pet is injured or sick is not the time to try and locate an emergency pet hospital. Remember, in an emergency, 24/7 Pet Return can help you find a pet hospital, but it’s better to know ahead of time where you will take your pet.

Visit your Veterinarian at least once per year for your pet's annual exam and vaccinations.

Microchip your pet. If your pet gets lost and loses his collar and identification tags, it will help you get your pet back.

Keep a current photo of your pet on his record at www.247petreturn.com. If your pet is lost we will need a quality current picture of your pet to post on our web site.

Pet proof your house the same way you would if you had a child. Make sure there are no hazardous items that your pet could get into.

Make sure and put breakaway collars on cats. Cats need to wear identification tags as much as dogs, but you don't want cats to get their collar hung and end up injuring themselves.

Make sure you have stickers on your breaker box and windows of your home that tell the fire department how many and what kinds of animals are in your home.
