Frequently Asked Questions:

Q.   How do I become a member of 24/7 Pet Return?
A.   To become a member of 24/7 Pet Return either contact your Veterinarian or Click Here to find a participating veterinarian near you. (If your Veterinarian does not offer our service, ask them to visit our web site to find out how their clinic can become part of the 24/7 Pet Return network.)

Q.   My pet has a microchip why would I need 24 /7 Pet Return?
A.   24/7 Pet Return believes that all pets should have a microchip as well as be enrolled in the 24/7 Pet Return Platinum membership program. Microchip technology however does not provide for someone to go and pick up your pet and care for them if you the owner cannot be contacted. Imagine that your pet gets lost and someone finds them on the side of the highway. The person who finds your pet tries to call your phone number but you are out of town or at the movies with your phone turned off. The person finding your pet now has two choices, load your pet in their car, take them home, and try to contact you again later; or simply let your pet go on the side of the highway where your pet is very likely to be injured or maybe even killed. If however, your pet has our platinum membership plan and our 24/7 Pet Return number on their tag, our agent can be on the way in a matter of minutes to pick up your pet and keep them safe until you can be contacted. Chip technology does not provide for an agent to go out and pick up your pet.

Q.   Who picks up the pets?
A.   We have a friendly and professional group of agents on call 24 hours per day to make sure that your best friend gets home safely. All of our agents are pet lovers who will pick up your pet and treat them with the same caring and respect that you would give your pet.

Q.   Where will you take my pet if they are picked up by 24 / 7 Pet Return?
A.   24/7 Pet Return will make every effort to return your pet directly to you. If you cannot be located, your pet will be taken to your Veterinarians office if it is during their normal office hours. If your Veterinarian is closed, your pet will be taken to one of our participating 24-hour clinics in your area, where they will be kept safely until you can be contacted. Your pet will not be taken to the city pound.

Q.   How far will 24/7 Pet Return travel to pick up my pet?
A.   24/7 Pet Return will only pick up your pet within a 50 (fifty) mile radius of the veterinary practice where you obtained your pet's 24/7 Pet Return platinum level membership. 24/7 Pet Return will still help if your pet is found outside this fifty mile radius by making every effort to contact you and your emergency contacts to let you know where your pet has been found. 24/7 Pet Return will also make sure that the person finding your pet is made aware of any special needs or medical condition that your pet has listed on their record at www.247petreturn.com.

Q.   What should I do if my pet loses their tag?
A.   Simply visit your Veterinarian and ask them for a new tag. Your Veterinarian will have a record of when you enrolled your pet in the service and can provide your pet with a new tag. Your 24/7 Pet Return membership will still expire 12 months from the date that you originally enrolled your pet in the service.

Q.   What if my phone number, address or other information changes?
A.   Simply access your account here on our web site and make the necessary changes to your account.

Q.   How will I know when my membership expires?
A.   Your Veterinarian will send you a reminder when it is time for you to renew your pets’ membership. You will also get an e-mail reminder when your membership is close to expiration. Visit your Veterinarian to get your new tag and sign your pets up for another year.

Q.   Why does 24/7 Pet Return collect my e-mail address as well as alternate contact information?
A.   Many times when a pet is recovered, your main contact phone numbers have been changed or disconnected. E-mail addresses and alternate contact information give 24/7 Pet Return the best chance of making sure your pet gets home to your family.

Q.   Is the information that I give to 247petreturn.com protected and secure? Will my information ever be made available to anyone other than authorized employees of 24/7 Pet Return?
A.   The database we use to store your pets' information is COMPLETELY SECURE. The information you provide about your pet will never be shared for any reason except to aid in the recovery of your pet.

Q.   When should I update my account information?
A.   You should update your pets’ information each time you get a reminder from 247petreturn.com.

Q.   How often can I update my account information?
A.   You can update your account information as often as you like.

Q.   What can 24/7 Pet Return do to help if my pet is lost?
A.   24/7 Pet Return can help in several ways. Click Here to learn more.

Q.   What is the difference between a gold and platinum level membership for my pet?
A.   A platinum level membership is an upgraded membership that will make sure your pet is picked up and transported home in the event they become lost and you can’t be contacted. Gold level memberships provide for help in recovering your pet via telephone assistance and all other methods employed by 24/7 Pet Return, with the exception of the pet being physically picked up by one of our agents, in the event the owner and emergency contacts can’t be located. Ask you veterinarian if you would like to upgrade your pet to a platinum level membership.
